Hello friends!
Back in January, I joined an online writing community that has been an absolute game-changer for me, and I want to share it with you.
I've actually been "part" of the community for quite some time now, but I joined the associated Discord at the beginning of the year, and am so glad that I did because it has helped me to grow immensely over the last month and a half. It's even helped me to break through the mental barriers that were keeping me from moving forward with Spectre, and I'm actually *excited* about writing again.

Get ready for some links and resources (all links open in new windows)!
First is the Write Now podcast created by Sarah Rhea Werner (creator of the Girl in Space audiodrama podcast).
Write Now is a fantastic resource for strengthening your writing craft, learning about and building your own process, creating characters that are interesting and dynamic, etc. It really is a great tool, and I recommend you start listening whenever you have a free moment. You can listen to Write Now on pretty much any podcast-listening app or Spotify, so get on it!
Every week, Sarah hosts two Create-Alongs on Twitch (@SarahRheaWerner) and Facebook (Seriously Successful Podcasters) on Wednesdays and Fridays at 7 PM CT. Don't let the Facebook name fool you: this create-along isn't meant for just podcast creators. All creators are welcome!
Ok, now that I've gone full fangirl with the links and praise (really, y'all... Sarah is great, and so is the writing community), I actually have a reason why I'm sharing all of this information. It provides additional context for the weekly posts that I'll be making on Fridays starting this week. I mean, weekly on Fridays is the *goal*, but we'll see how that pans out.
Every Friday, one of our lovely community members, Jimmie, posts a writing prompt in the Discord, and we all participate. Some apply it to their current WIP, and others create something brand new. It's totally up to the writer how they use the prompt.
So. That's the plan. Starting this week (Friday, February 19th, 2021) I will post my writing following the weekly prompt. All good stuff!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
