New Year's Resolutions

There is a school of thought that New Year's Resolutions do more harm than good, and I agree... with some caveats.

Drastic changes like going full-on vegan on January 1st without proper preparation are bound to fail. Sure. I can get on board with that.

But I don't think that's what New Year's Resolutions (referred to as NYRs from this point forward) are about. Not in my case anyway.

For me, NYRs are about small, attainable goals that help me to become a better, more complete person. It's making the resolution to take a vitamin every morning instead of nothing at all because you're getting older and need to actually start taking care of your body (dear God, I hope it's not too late for me). It's promising myself to write a post on here once a week for my own sanity.

I'm not talking massive life change. I'm talking about little adjustments.

Without further ado, I present my NYRs for the year of 2017.
  1. Take vitamins every morning instead of prepping them and opting not to take them because you're lazy.
  2. Go to kickboxing 3 times every week. Stop being a lazy ass about it. Your knee hurts because you're not working out as much as you should.
  3. Post a blog every Monday on 52 Weeks of Wordage.
  4. Post a YouTube video every Friday on OVERQUALIFIED. Will also be supplemented with a short blog post on the OVERQUALIFIED website.
  5. Start new SECRET PROJECT with my friend, Emme. More to come on that later this month.
  6. Get debt free by August 2017 (so you can take on more debt for nursing school... sigh).
  7. Make an 'A' in all pre-nursing classes at Nashville State Community College.
  8. Apply and get accepted into Union University's Accelerated BSN Program.
That's it. See? Painless. Not to mention totally doable. I have life progress to make, and I look forward to what my first new year in my 30s will bring.

Do you do the NYR thing? Why or why not? If you do, share some of your resolutions in the comments!

Peace.
Stef.
