2017 - Week 3: Space Piracy

by: Bradley W. Schenck
If you've known me for any length of time or have been reading this blog for a while, you most likely know that I am working on - and have been for quite some time... sigh... - a space opera that focuses on a ragtag group of space pirates roaming the far reaches of space and just generally behaving unethically.

General info is located in 'The Big, Bad WIP' section of my website, but be warned, all of the information is woefully out of date as the plot and characters have taken drastic turns since putting together those initial write-ups.

At any rate, one of the things that I want to focus on this year is actually getting all of the nonsense I've written under this idea into a cohesive unit. Lord knows I've been twiddling my thumbs on this idea for a long-ass time.

I've gotten myself a yearly subscription to Novlr as a means of keeping myself accountable and also providing a certain amount of organization to my writing (good Lord, do I need it) and have set a plan in place for me to write at least 1 chapter per week. Knowing me, that'll turn into 1 chapter every other week or so, but hey, it's better than nothing.

It's a good story. It deserves to be written. Hell, I would want to read it if it was a story. Not only that, but I'm really doing my best to add in aspects of feminism that is not the "I AM A FEMINIST AND YOU SHOULD BE TOO" sort of way. You know what I mean.

At any rate, it's in the works, and I'm enjoying taking my time going through the writing process, even if I wish I had more written. It is what it is, and I am determined to get this story published... eventually. hah

In all seriousness, I am planning on having it published sometime next year. I feel like that's a feasible goal. Right? I don't know. Most of the time, I don't even know what I'm doing. We'll see.

Peace.
Stef.

You know, you don't really notice it, but purple appears quite frequently in nature. When I think nature, my mind immediately imagines greens, browns, and generally all kinds of neutral colors, but purple is everywhere. It's pretty awesome.

Great, huh? I don't remember when I was first introduced to this all-sorts-of-wonderful song, but I'm pretty sure it was care of my Mom. She definitely has provided quite a bit of the humor in my life, and I'm sure she's one of the big reasons…
